So I thought I'd just adjust my cover to my liking. </p> <p>Cox asked McCain all manner of questions with an emphasis on the pop culture that is less fluffy than you'd think. I mean, we've heard him talk politics for eons. His less practiced answers about TV and movies? I think pretty telling. Like his love of the zombie movie <b>28 Weeks Later</b> that has oblique references to Guantanamo and a post 9/11 world? McCain shrugs and says, "A lot of those zombie movies are political, you know." Who can forget the 1992 splurge of the granddaddy of self-financing, Ross Perot? But did you know he shelled out $71.2 million for a price of $2.56 per vote?</p> <p>That's not the most expensive run though — that honor rests on Blair Hull, who ran for US Senate in Illinois in 2004 — against Barack Obama. Oh noes! Mr. Hull sank $28,658,890 million in at a cost of $213.15 per vote. Oh, for context, it wasn't necessarily Obama's brilliance that sunk his campaign. Most think Hull's ship sank after some nasty, terrible details of spousal abuse came out when his divorce papers were unsealed. I wasn't aware of Clooney's political ambitions, though this passage struck me as...not out of the realm of possibility? (He has been seen hanging out with Barack Obama, after all.) Rupert Everett who has no love-lost for Clooney, remarked on George's political prospects:</p> <blockquote><p> "He's not the brightest spark on the boulevard. He'll be president one day.
