Coveted Crib: Victoria's Deco Dream Apartment (Part Four) This week, we've taken several tours through artist and jeweler Victoria Skirpa's Lake Merritt Deco apartment. Today, we'll say goodbye to this gorgeous home with a look around Victoria's kitchen. Since Victoria is a renter, she can't do a lot of renos, but she still dresses up the space with cool accents and her artist's eye.

Coveted Crib: Victoria's Deco Dream Apartment (Part Two) Yesterday, we toured Victoria's fabulous entry, living room, and studio space. Victoria, a jeweler living by "the jewel of Oakland," Lake Merritt, is the lucky inhabitant of a Deco-era apartment that features much of the original detailing, including several stunning chandeliers (such as the one shown here). To continue the tour with a turn around her study, check out the slideshow.

Coveted Crib: Victoria's Deco Dream Apartment (Part One) It only makes sense that Oakland, CA, artist Victoria Skirpa makes stunning sculptures and covetable jewelry from her one-bedroom apartment overlooking Lake Merritt. After all, the lake is known as "the jewel of Oakland," and Victoria's apartment, location, and beautiful jewelry (she's having a special invite-only sale this upcoming weekend) are all equally treasurable. When I visited her home, I was literally drooling over her crazy views, as well as her very cool vintage furniture finds, original artwork, and unbelievable closet space (I am incredibly envious of this last item).

Coveted Crib: The Eames House Charles and Ray Eames are legends in the design world. Their furniture designs, from the molded rocker to the Eames lounge and ottoman, are pieces any modernist worth her salt is either saving for or proudly displaying. The Eames are also known for their modular work, which was first seen in the 1940 Organic Design competition, and established the beauty and practicality of a modular approach to architecture.

Coveted Crib: An Aspen Cabin Goes For the Old When Aspen, CO, residents Cynthia and Frank Goldsmith decided their dream home should look like a 110-year-old Colorado homestead, they went to work, hiring an architect to recreate that iconic look. At the same time, the couple traveled to flea markets, antique stores, and salvage yards to find turn-of-the-century hardware, lighting, beams, doorknobs, and even hinges! The only items in this home that are new are the appliances, plumbing, and windows.

Coveted Crib: Andy's Artful Home (Part One) Artist Andrew Phares doesn't leave his creativity in the studio. On the contrary: His eye for design, unique antiques, and tongue-in-cheek vintage signage and toys is evident throughout his Bay Area home. There's so much to take in, in fact, that I've decided to break this slideshow up into several separate posts!
