
The
new plan for US withdrawal from Iraq would have US troops out within three years, with withdrawals set to begin next Summer if it's agreed upon. But, these troops had their big homecoming this week.
Troops from the Homestead Air Reserve Base returned to Miami after a six-month deployment to Iraq.

British Army soldiers conducted operation Southern Beast this week in the Kandahar Province of Afghanistan. Led by the Parachute Regiment of the Third Battalion, the troops worked to create conditions for a
permanent NATO presence, intended to bolster the Afghan National Government's fight against the Taliban. While operating in Kandahar, one of Afghanistan's largest opium producing regions, the Brits seized 70 kilograms of the drug.
