Jennifer Aniston Had a 2008 Full of Love, Friends, and Health

Jennifer Aniston graces the cover of People's Best of 2008 issue with a puppy draped over her shoulders and a smile on her face. It's been an incredible year for Jennifer romantically and personally, and she's ending it with a bang releasing Marley & Me. In the magazine she answers questions from fans, including a cute one about your favorite celebrity pet of the year, Norman. Here's highlights:

On Norman and Dolly being jealous of Marley: "Oh, play it for me, Misti! Dolly didn't travel to Miami because she is too young at 2 ½, and to put her in a trailer didn't seem fair. All Norman wants to do is just lie at my feet, which is what I like. [The trainers] were strict about letting the Marleys play with other dogs. But there was no jealousy because Norman is very secure. Norman is now 13, but even back [as a puppy] he was as cool as a cucumber. He's just a person in a dog suit."
On favorite holiday traditions: "My favorite tradition is picking out my tree and then the tree trimming. I just got mine! And there's eggnog, Christmas carols, usually chili, cupcakes. I've cooked the chili – my mom has a great recipe. But now I have a lovely lady cook it because I want people to be happy!"
On remarrying: "I don't know! I honestly don't know. I'm not against it. Maybe (smiles). Maybe, sure."
On turning 40: "I'm very excited. I had more of a panic going into 30. I think you realize that it just gets better. When they say youth is wasted on the young, it's so true. Oh my God, what I wish I'd known when I was 30!"
On getting over bad days: "You just have to love your life. I have my health, I have my friends, I have my loved ones. I'm extremely lucky."

Methinks Feb. 11 can't come soon enough so Jennifer can stop answering questions about her 40th birthday, but of course she answered with grace and her famous sense of humor. As for the holidays, between her chili and John's baking sounds like they've got the makings of some new traditions of their own.

K-Fed Reveals He Was Blindsided by Britney's Divorce

We've been hearing a lot of Britney's side of the story recently — between her documentary and numerous magazine covers, we have new insight into her life, including her split from Kevin Federline. Now, Kevin decided to open up a little about what it's all been like for him, from falling in love to watching Britney break down last January to her big comeback year. Here are some highlights from his interview:

On his divorce: "It's hard enough to be in a marriage, and then have a kid, then kids, it changes everything. For me, I'd become more concerned with my children. Not that I ignored Britney, but my kids are always most important . . . I mean, we were having complications. I didn't give her an ultimatum, but I was trying to work stuff out with her, and she didn't even talk to me or anything and went behind my back and filed [for divorce]. [I was] completely blindsided."
On custody of his kids: "My first question to [my lawyer] was, "Am I ever going to be able to see my children?" I told him that I would spend every last dime that I had to make sure that my children are okay. That's all that mattered. I didn't know how much power Britney had. That really scared me."
On Britney's hospitalization: "That whole night is a blur. You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her 'cause I care about her. That's the mother of my children. Just because I'm not in love with her doesn't mean that I don't love her. I'm definitely rooting for her. There's nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do."
On her improvement: "Oh, man, it's totally turning around. It works out that [the kids] get to see her. There's structure over there, there's structure at my house. We're trying to keep the same type of schedule. It doesn't have to be completely perfect, but the foundation is there."

Despite the bad reputation Kevin has, he seems genuinely supportive of what she's going through and like he's working hard to be the stable father Britney wants for their kids. As long as he's not trying to revive his rap career, it sounds like Kevin could have earned that Father of the Year trophy.

Elizabeth Edwards People Cover Hits Newsstands Today

This week's People cover girl isn't as beaming as last week's Brad and Angelina lovefest — Elizabeth Edwards graces the cover — and I think "grace" is really the appropriate word. She seems to be handling the John Edwards trouble about as well as she possibly can. She's issued a statement in support of Edwards, though according to the story inside the mag, her friend says she's really having to tough it out. "There was anguish – excruciating anguish – for her in dealing with this."

She's, of course, weighing her kids, her disease, and her broken trust with her husband — and the youngest kids haven't been told yet what's going on though Elizabeth's brother says, "Children are very wise and know things." While I'm glad there wasn't a "parade the wife to the podium" shot like we saw earlier this year, somehow I feel like this mag crosses my line a bit. I'll read everything there is to read about him — he made his bed, so to speak — but I might just want to leave Elizabeth (even two-dimensional Elizabeth) in peace. What do you think? Are you picking up the issue? Are you glad that John seems to have made the story about him and less about their marriage?

Just Like Reagan's Kids! Obama's Girls Are Featured in People

The more things change, the more they stay the same, huh? This week in history, waaaayyy back in 1980, then-presidential candidate Ronald Reagan's children were featured in People magazine — fast-forward to 2008, and while Obama is in Israel meeting with top Israeli and Palestinian leaders on his plans for containing the nuclear threat from Iran and building peace in the Middle East, his daughters are getting their time in the mag.

In the Reagan kids' profile (which has a hilariously vintage feel) daughter Patti scandalously admitted to the question of whether she would vote for her dad, "gee, uh, I don't know — maybe I wouldn't vote for anybody. I'm really kind of antipolitical. I just get the newspaper and turn to the comics." Gee? Too good. In the profile, Patti, 27, was living at home "until I can find a new apartment."

Michael on the other hand was fully engaged as a campaigner for his dad, despite that his age (35) made his dad look ancient — and scandalous with his blended family. He said, "I suppose it makes Dad look old, having older children. Headquarters may feel it's embarrassing if Maureen and I are in the forefront, and the real kids [the two by Nancy] are not. Sometimes I've felt like I was fighting to volunteer."

And this! After talking about Ron's love of ballet, the piece included the quote from dad, "he's all man—we made sure of that," and the article goes on to say, "in fact, young Reagan seems thoroughly heterosexual." Oh, 1980. You're so cute!

All in all, it's kind of a shock to see how unmuzzled the kids were during the campaign — not produced in the least.

Though the Obama girls are decidedly younger than their Reagan predecessors, they gave out the goods, too. To see what they said,

People Magazine released its annual list of the Hottest Bachelors of 2008 today with Mario Lopez scoring the marquee spot. Joining him to name a few: Bret Michaels, Gerard Butler, David Cook, Andy Samberg, Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado, the boys of Gossip Girl, Adam Levine as well as famous siblings Bryan Spears and Hunter Johansson. While it's nice to see a fresh list, some of these names seem out of left field. What do you think about People's list — are these 2008's Hottest Bachelors?

It's getting to the point that Hollywood is churning out new-fangled stars quicker than I can keep up with them, and apparently, quicker than celeb news writers can even come up with anything to say about them. Case in point: this People online piece on Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford is filled in with journalistic code meaning "more text to come." Hmmm. It's been up almost a week! Maybe his handsome face and perfectly mussed-up hair are the full story.

This one gets a double big Awwwwww! Here we have it, the much anticipated People magazine cover showing off Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's new twin babies — Max and Emme! They're so tiny and delicious! Love them. She looks so peaceful with her little babies finally in her arms. I can't wait to see the rest of the spread when the magazine hits stands tomorrow, but until then check out a People editor talking about the photo shoot with the newly expanded family.
