It's a new year for the youngsters of
Gossip Girl but that doesn't mean much has changed since
we saw them last. Chuck's still mean and boozy, everyone still has secrets, and Little Jenny is still caught up with those mean rich girls at school.
Also, Lily and Rufus are still grappling with the fact that they have the hots for each other but can't be together because Lily kept that huge secret from him for 20 years.
Gossip Girl may be on hiatus until 2009, but the stars of the show are still hard at work on new episodes. Penn Badgley, Blake Lively, and Leighton Meester were spotted on set yesterday, keeping warm in the chilly city thanks to their
stylish coats and coffee. We're eager to see what's in store for some of
your favorite relationships on TV after the very dramatic funeral episode, but there's already one shakeup we've heard about.

New York got even cooler last night when the pretty young things came out to celebrate Ray-Ban Clubmaster Shades. Fresh off perhaps the
most intense episode of the show ever, the
Gossip Girl boys joined by Blake Lively —
stylish as always — came out for the party.
Ed and Jessica may not be the only possible new offscreen GG romance, supposedly
Chace and Taylor were spotted making out at their holiday party.

This week's episode of
Gossip Girl is pretty dark, and I'm not just talking about the funeral wardrobe. In the spirit of not being too spoilery, I won't say who kicks the bucket, but let's just say it sounds like Dart Lass. Tragedy seems to have put a halt to this humanizing of Chuck that's gone on all season (hanging with Eric, softening to Blair, etc.).

Last time we hung out with the kids from
Gossip Girl, it was Thanksgiving and
things seemed to be mellowing out. Jenny stopped with the divorcing of the parents and moved back in with Rufus, Serena and Aaron settled in to an exclusive relationship, Blair got to see her dad, and Chuck and Nate made nice.
But now that the mini-break is over, the drama's starting up again, and this week's episode is basically a slow build to the annual Snowflake Ball, where everyone eventually turns up one way or another.

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley had a chocolate-filled shopping trip at Godiva in NYC on Sunday. While their
Gossip Girl characters aren't together for now, the real life couple is still going strong and gearing up for the
holiday season. Even if Serena and Dan
didn't share Thanksgiving dinner, maybe Blake and Penn will have the chance to set the table together, especially since Blake's family is
such a fan of her boyfriend.

Rihanna was on hand to light UNICEF's Snowflake in NYC last night before hitting the red carpet in
a more dramatic gown alongside Blake Lively and Madonna. The snowflake marks the beginning of
holiday shopping season, which we've already gotten a great start on around here with
all our fabulous gift guides. Rihanna was also there to officially launch her
Tattoo Heart Collection for Gucci, which also benefits UNICEF.

After lighting UNICEF's Snowflake in New York City yesterday, Rihanna was joined by Madonna, Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Mary J. Blige and Adrian Grenier for the Gucci Tattoo Heart Collection dinner. Rihanna officially launched her collection to benefit UNICEF at the event at Plaza Hotel: check out her most recent video ad

Some of the
Gossip Girl cast was hard at work as usual on the set in NYC yesterday. Last night was Thanksgiving time for our favorite Upper East Siders, which
brought with it drama as usual, as well as some heart warming moments and festive holiday attire —
get the looks from the episode here. The hour wrapped itself up nicely while setting up for the next big plot shocker, while keeping us on our toes with the
fashion,
beauty, and
gadgets.

The lush green background made the dresses stand out at last night's CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund event in NYC, where
Alexander Wang took home the prize;
check out all the other winners here. Anna Wintour, who
may be considering retirement, hosted some of Manhattan's pretty young things at the soiree. Blake Lively and Penn Badgley traveled as a duo as usual, though they never pose together.
