Do you really have to read gadget blogs every day like I do to recognize that sending money to someone in Nigeria via sites like Craigslist is a terrible idea?
Because you could knock me over with a feather every time I hear another story about someone falling for a Nigerian scam, and this new one, about a women who lost $400,000 to a Nigerian racket, is a real doozie. I mean, she was promised over $20 million dollars if she just helped this stranger in Africa .

After hearing the news that a Wal-Mart employee was brutally trampled to death by discount-hungry shoppers on Black Friday, you might think eager shoppers everywhere turned out for after-Thanksgiving sales. While other retailers avoided such tragedy on the biggest shopping day of the year, they didn't draw in the same crowds and are now apprehensively facing the bad news that 2008 could end in the red.
The prospect of getting something for less might have caused some aggressive crowds, but the number of shoppers out this Black Friday didn't compare to those in recent years.

Jamie Oliver, UK celebrity chef and gastrosexual, has announced the launch of his own bimonthly glossy, which will hit shelves this Thursday. The cooking star promises that his publication, aptly titled Jamie Magazine, won't be "yet another cooking mag," but will offer readers a "more personal relationship" with the man who is Jamie Oliver. According to editor Andy Harris, the magazine should make readers feel as if they are "being invited round to Jamie's house."

A form of equestrian therapy, Sam Spliteri's daily rides help him with simple tasks like feeding himself and improving his speech. Though he has ridden his pet that lives at his home since he was a baby, the town of Caledon recently received a complaint from a neighbor.

An avid iPhone app watch site has reported that Apple has reached a huge milestone — a grand total of 10,000 apps (or thereabouts, they concede).
I certainly feel like I've looked at 10,000 apps and tested out nearly that many, but when it comes down to it, I edit quite harshly on my iPhone. I have honed it down to ones that I absolutely need or love, and get rid of those that are really just novelties and fun for a day.

After two weeks of will he or won't he have to hand over his beloved BlackBerry before being inaugurated in January, President-elect Barack Obama set the record straight with ABC's Barbara Walters during an interview last week. Granted, only a minor portion of the interview involved tech and new puppy talk, but Obama did say he's hopeful that he'll still be able to stay connected via his BlackBerry. But what if he does have to bid it farewell?
