Another
Memorial Day day has come and gone, and I hope that you had a relaxing weekend enjoying the warm weather. While we won't have another three-day weekend until July (sad!), the importance of shielding your skin from the elements is important every day of the year, especially during the hot Summer months. Because this is such an important beauty necessity, I requested that you find protective beauty items that you'd wear by the pool.

Memorial Day is a national holiday, which means most companies close their offices in recognition. Some businesses keep their doors open to serve the slew of people who are enjoying their long weekend, or need to be available to international clients who obviously don't celebrate the holiday. Are you spending the day lounging and
eating barbecue, or are you working hard for your money today?

If you'd like to honor the men and women who have served our country or are in the process of doing so, one way of giving back is to donate to a veteran's charity or
the USO.
Charity.com has a full list of various charities like
Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund,
Veterans First, and the
Missing Man Foundation. The site gives detailed descriptions on what each charity strives to achieve.

Happy
Memorial Day! We know that today is all about the
BBQs with family and friends, but we have a
little tradition of asking you all who you'd want to spend your fabulous holiday weekend with. This year it's all about the boys we love so much, so tell us — who would you want to hang with this Memorial Day?
In honor of Memorial Day, I wanted to share information about this heartwarming program with you! To assist the veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan,
Puppies Behind Bars has
launched the Dog Tags plan to match disabled soldiers with specially trained Labrador Retrievers or Golden Retrievers to assist them in their daily lives, performing tasks ranging from opening the door to helping to pick up dropped items. These dogs not only are new life companions for the veterans, but the fully-trained service dogs would run each person around $30,000 if left to pay for it on their own.

Memorial Day, which was originally called Decoration Day, was first used to honor Union soldiers who died in the United States Civil War. After World War I, it was expanded to commemorate all US men and women who died in military service.
Growing up, I always marched in my small town's Memorial Day parade, flute in hand.

If you're anything like me, you'll spend
Memorial Day chillaxin' at home with the TV on, probably doing odds and ends around the house (laundry, housework, etc.). Or maybe you've had your fill of BBQs and partying and just need to veg out using the least amount of brain power possible. Either way, many networks are offering up nonstop entertainment today in the form of TV show marathons.

In Colorado this weekend, hundreds of high school seniors turned their tassels and graduated — one of them had just been waiting for it longer than the others. Forty-two years longer, to be exact. Dennis Collins, now 60, walked across the stage on Saturday and
collected the diploma that he'd sacrificed by heading off to Vietnam in 1966.
