Musharraf said, “I have decided to resign today," saying the move put his country above "personal bravado." At the end of his hour-long speech, he punched the air and said, "long live Pakistan!"

Now, county code enforcement officials have issued a building code citation and a fine of up to $1,000 a day if the church does not take down the tent. The church is the only walk-in shelter in the county.

Obama Gets Heckled by Crowd at Townhall in St. Petersburg Obama appeared in front of a "feisty" crowd in St. Petersburg, FL, this morning. Midway through his opening remarks, three young, African-American men stood up behind the senator with a banner that read, "What About the Black Community, Obama?" The men heckled, the crowd booed, and Obama turned to engage with them telling them to be courteous and that they'd have their time to ask a question during the Q&A. He kept his word.

It's not just because the ocean is pretty enough to warrant a daily visit, but they're looking for movement in sea turtle nests there. When volunteers locate an active nest, they lend helping hands to the leatherbacks and dig channels to create a clear pathway to water for the babies.

The Case of the Missing Dog and the Kitty Held Hostage There must be something in the water down there in Florida to cause a woman to hold a cat as ransom. This story is a bit tricky, so stay with me here: Linda Urioste's black lab Scobby went missing several weeks ago, but instead of searching for him right away, she assumed he was stolen and gone for good. In the meantime, Scobby had turned up at the animal shelter and was adopted by Jutta Hollar and her husband after being unclaimed for weeks.

Both candidates have weighed in on the California ballot initiative that would override the state's supreme court ruling legalizing gay marriage: Obama opposes the ban, and McCain supports it. The candidates characterize the measure differently.

The Scoop: Swimming For Bears I love animals, but I have to be honest and say, if I was placed in a situation like one that Adam Warwick faced last week, I'm not sure how I would respond. Warwick, a Wildlife Officer from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission made a quick (and dangerous) decision to save a drowning bear who was shot with a tranquilizer dart after wandering into a Florida beachfront neighborhood. The 364-pound black bear was stunned after being tagged with the dart and ran straight for the nearby ocean.
