A not-so-playful police sting in Cairo netted about 400 teenage boys
accused of flirting with girls. Just yesterday, law enforcement rounded up the underage wannabe-seducers in front of schools, universities, or other public places where teens hang out. The teens will most likely face fines.

Sexual harassment in Egypt won't get you a slap on the wrist, but it will get you years in jail time and a sentence for hard labor. In what was most likely the first
jail sentence for sexual harassment in Egypt, defendant Sharif Gomma was also ordered to pay his victim $895.
While in his car, Gomma drove slowly next to his victim, groping her as she walked on a sidewalk.

Long Muslim scarves and lots of clothes worn on the beach can make a woman feel like a fish out of water. One resort in Egypt is making it safe to dive in. Called "La Femme," its
women-only status means that women can swim, breast feed, and lounge in bikinis safe from the prying eyes of men.

Young Egyptian
men work years to save enough money for marriage, an event that certifies manhood. But Egyptian society often treats women as mere objects to marry, and teaches young girls that their futures rely on becoming a bride. Twenty-nine-year-old Ghada Abdelaal has turned the tables — the female author wrote I Want to Get Married, a fun book which challenges Egypt's patriarchal norms, showing that Egyptian women have desires similar to men.

Some of California's most
conservative counties will not be holding marriage ceremonies — gay or straight — citing inadequate resources for the expected influx of couples seeking marriage once same-sex couples are permitted to marry on June 15. Many are crying foul, as a local newspaper published emails sent from the Kern County clerk asking a conservative group opposed to gay marriage for legal assistance.
The Campaign For Children and Families wants clerks to deny same-sex licenses in counties "where the man-woman marriage ethic is strongest in California," until voters have their say on a November ballot initiative that would ban gay marriage.

Egypt has just uncovered the missing "Headless Pyramid," hidden under years and years of sand. Ending millenniums of mystery, the archaeologist determined that the famous tomb belongs to pharaoh Mankauhor, who ruled Egypt 4,000 years ago.
Only the base of the pyramid remains.

Social networking site Facebook is getting in the way of Egypt's emergency law governance, which has not allowed more than five people to congregate unless registered for the last 25 years.
In April, young citizens used Facebook to get 80,000 supporters to protest rising food prices. Also that month, on April 6, the site spread support and increased turnout for a textile workers' strike and protest.
