I was captivated when I first saw this
TeamSugar photo — the potato and meat in the soup look chunky and hearty, and I can just taste the dill on the tip of my tongue. I was too enthralled to even notice that this recipe, with its step-by-step photos, was actually
Syako's first attempt at food photography! If you, too, are tempted by the dinner possibility, then .

Labor Day weekend means food-happenings galore. At front and center is
Slow Food Nation '08, the country's first ever
slow food event, to be held in San Francisco. I'll be in attendance, so I can learn more about eating sustainably.

If BBQ gurus
Pat and Gina Neely were to make a Mexican burrito, it would probably look a lot like this dish. The filling is a simple mixture of ground beef, onion, corn, and bottled barbecue sauce. Instead of a salsa or guacamole topping, a heaping spoonful of crunchy coleslaw is placed atop the meat.

okra, fresh corn, English peas, tomatoes, zucchini — that I bought it all. Then I got home and wondered: What should I do with this Summer bounty?
My question got answered as soon as I came across this dish while browsing
The Kitchen Sink.

Take a Tex-Mex vacation with these vegetarian tacos. A simple but flavorful mixture of black beans, corn, fresh zucchini, and prepared enchilada sauce makes a delicious filling. The recipe is incredibly versatile, so feel free to get creative.

In the mood to soak up some live entertainment with your food? Whether you like
magic with your potatoes or
country music with your corn, this week's food festivals are for you. There are a number of charity events, so if you're in a generous mood consider helping those who are less fortunate.

For my
movie club meeting, I've planned a
corn tasting menu. Each of the dishes feature corn as an ingredient. Since sweet corn is available, the dessert will be no different.

This week I am planning a party that features
a corn tasting menu. Although the dish pictured below is not on the menu, it definitely could be. Do you know what it's called?

The foodie documentary
King Corn will be shown at my
movie club meeting, so the menu features a variety of vegetarian corn dishes. During the screening, let guests nibble on corn cakes and
pizzettas with corn and zucchini.
After the movie is finished, invite everyone around the table for a light meal of cheddar corn chowder with an arugula fresh corn salad on the side.

This month, America continues to celebrate the Summer harvest. At Nashville's Tomato Arts Fest, you might take a stab at the Bloody Mary competition, or sip a tomato-tini for the first time. If you're a Houstonian, you can support a good cause, cool off, and enjoy a great dinner deal by dining out this week.
