It's starting to get really cold now, so thank goodness for the DVD release of
Mamma Mia! this week. One of the massive box office hits of the summer, the film based on the stage musical will bring some welcome sunshine and laughter into your living room.
Meryl Streep is on wonderful all-singing all-dancing form as Donna, a single mum with a run-down hotel on an idyllic Greek island.

Jessica Biel steals the show as glamourous and intelligent Larita in
Easy Virtue, a 1920s romantic comedy based on Noel Coward's play. After a whirlwind romance in America, Larita has married young earnest John (Ben Barnes), and when the couple arrive at the Whittakers' stately country house it's time for Larita to face her in-laws. Mrs Whittaker (Kristin Scott Thomas) is certainly not impressed to have an American for a daughter-in-law, while a withdrawn Mr Whittaker (Colin Firth) does his best to keep out of the way.

Three years ago Tom Ford formed the production company Fade to Black and today he finally stopped us guessing what his first move might be. Plans were
recently unveiled for Ford's directorial debut for a movie titled, A Single Man. The movie is based on the book of the same name by
Christopher Isherwood.

Following their
appearance at the Rome Film Festival, Jessica Biel and Ben Barnes were joined by Colin Firth and their other costars Kris Marshall, Charlotte Riley and Kimberley Nixon for the gala screening of Easy Virtue at the
London Film Festival last night. Director Stephan Elliot even brought the chihuahua along for the ride! As well as appearing on our screens from 7 November, Jessica is currently on our newsstands too
on the cover of Marie Claire, where she says she feels "sort of ridiculous" posing for photographers.

Calling all UK-based TeamSugar members! In addition to our

We've teamed up with Pathe to give away a pair of tickets to a special LFF screening of

Willa, Colin, and Elizabeth Bring Genova to London A selection of cast members from Michael Winterbottom's new movie Genova walked the red carpet at the London Film Festival last night, including Willa Holland (whom you may remember as Kaitlyn Cooper in The OC), Colin Firth, and Elizabeth Banks.

A selection of cast members of Michael Winterbottom's new movie Genova walked the red carpet at the
London Film Festival last night including Willa Holland (who you may remember as Kaitlyn Cooper in The OC), Colin Firth and Elizabeth Banks. The movie is about a man who moves his two daughters to Italy after their mother dies in a car accident, in order to revitalise their lives and their new setting changes each of them in different ways. On the red carpet Colin
said of the movie: "I'm a dad, it's about a dad.

With the end of
Lost in Austen last week, I've been in a Pride and Prejudice mood and have been thinking back to the 1995 TV series version and 2005 film version. I like all three actors in the role of Darcy: Colin Firth in the BBC TV series, Matthew Mcfadyen in the film version with Keira Knightley, and Elliot Cowan in ITV's recent spin on the story. I want to know your preferences, so tell me: who is your favourite Darcy?

Watching another man playing Darcy in
Lost in Austen has got me nostalgic for Colin Firth in period costume, so I couldn't help but smile when I saw these shots of him filming Dorian Gray in London. He's playing Lord Henry Wotton opposite Ben Barnes as Dorian in the film adaptation of Oscar Wilde's novel. Following his role in
Mamma Mia!, Colin is
in talks to star as a gay college professor in Tom Ford's directorial debut, A Single Man.

The most musical movie hitting the theaters this Friday,
Mamma Mia, premiered in NYC last night. The stars were all out and full of smiles including Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried who play the mother daughter pair at the center of the film. It's hard to say who looked more dapper, Pierce Brosnan or Colin Firth, handsome in suits before watching themselves sing and dance on the big screen.
