The first lady of France Carla Bruni stepped out to celebrate Bastille Day on Monday with her husband Nicolas Sarkozy. She wore two outfits, firstly a violet dress with a cropped jacket and then later she changed in to a navy silk dress both by Dior by John Galliano. She made contacts with fashion houses during her twelve year modeling career. 
Though his visit ended amid panic, France's Nicolas Sarkozy's first presidential visit to Israel this week made quite an impression. Sarkozy called on the country to stop settlement in the occupied West Bank, saying Mideast peace depends on Israel dropping its refusal to surrender sovereignty over parts of Jerusalem claimed by the Palestinians. As compensation, he assured Israel that it could count on France's support in halting Iran's nuclear program.

Well, Carla looked uncharacteristically sombre for the occasion wearing a Dior long grey coat with clinched in waist and matching pillbox hat teamed with black flats.
