I watched part of this online from CNN, I think, and it was hilarious. President Bush said he was going to do something he'd wanted to do for a long time and then conducted the orchestra. Who hasn't wanted to conduct an orchestra. (Most of us, "of a certain age." have dreamed of it.)

And the jokes Bush told on himself and the Candidates were funny-groaners, too.

this is further proof of my theory that bush should look into a career in stand-up comedy after he's out of office. i can't stand the guy, but he's made me laugh on more than one occasion. maybe he could open for carrot top?

I'm sorry but I like Bush (well, I'm not really sorry). Politics aside, I love someone who doesn't take themselves too serious. I bet Bush was a lot of fun in his earlier days.

but seriously, i think that's why he was "elected" in the first place, people saw him as their buddy. but i don't understand america's need to have a guy who they'd have beers with running their country... which speaks to the fact that everyone thinks obama is an elitist snob. don't we want someone smarter than us running our country? i know i do.

Yesteryear - I agree that I want someone who is smarter than me to run the country(and that isn't difficult to find). I also want someone who knows the plight I am in, and can help me, not someone who grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth. BTW - I think Obama did just that. Other than the Clinton camp, I don't see where the "elitist" crap is coming from.

I just wanted to point out that my father reminds me a lot of Bush (in looks, humor and personality, not leadership or any other aspect). He (my dad) is a very smart man with a lot of experience in his field and a lot of education under his belt --- but he is also very down to earth and can be freaking hilarious and comical, definitely a man I love to have beer with (though we usually drink wine) Anywho, just because you want to have beer with someone, doesn't necessarily make that person on a lower level, imo. They can still be smart as Einstein and have a great personality and sense of humor.

Despite what I think of any politicians views, I love to see people having a good time and enjoying themselves, away from the stresses of every day life and jobs. It's nice to know that even in one of the most pressure filled 24/7 jobs known to man, those people can still have fun now and then.
