Poll: Icon vs. Icon—Who Would You Want in Your Corner?

Much has been said about "Billary's" two-on-one strategy toward Barack Obama. Having such a high-profile surrogate may have given Hillary a free lane to stay above the fray, while Barack was forced to address Bill Clinton's negativity.

But maybe the backing of a liberal legend, Senator Ted Kennedy, has leveled the playing field for Obama. Kennedy, who showed his unbelievable power to rally a crowd 50-years his junior at American University, will be a formidable and high-profile partner on the campaign trail.

Can the Kennedy mystique match Bill Clinton's popular status and supreme political skill? Who would you rather have in your corner?

I think it could go both ways. A lot of people love and HATE both of them!

If Bill Clinton would've kept the game clean and remained positive, I think he would've done more good. The fact that he went negative and nasty completely removes his cred, in my opinion.

I'm not really a fan of Ted Kennedy as a person, but I do respect him as a politician. Say what you will about him... he takes his job seriously. Not enough of our representatives do. And this is in spite the fact that he can pretty much take it for granted that he'll be reelected every single term. I worked for a short time in Washington DC for a npo and had to sit through various committee hearings. Even if the meeting wasn't shocking or glamorous enough to garner news attention, he was always there. I couldn't say the same for some of his colleagues. (*cough*JohnKerry*cough*)

Teddy - when he gave his endorsement of Barack, he spoke in terms of hope and that is what this campaign is all about... Bill is looking to the past, period. Teddy is looking to a time he saw as good, where there was faith in leadership, and seeing it in the future. Bill isn't helping, the Kennedy backing is.

Let's see - our choice is between an alcoholic or a lying womanizer? At least Bill has a better driving record.

I would go with Bill anytime - he is a two term winning President. I like the Kennedy's but they have always been the more liberal bent of the democratic party, which will not play well with the moderates or independents.

Two months ago I wouldn't have believed that Bill Clinton could be a liability. But I think he is now.

I voted Bill however I do like the fact that Ted really wants the troops home and I like Caroline Kennedy, if she was a choice I would chose her. I didn't vote for Teddy though because of the incident where he left the girl to die and it was covered up. I like some of his views however I can not skip over the fact someone died. I really like Caroline and Robert Kennedy Jr.

you're right, you shouldn't judge someone based on their vices. We all have them. But not many of us have left a woman to drown in a car that we drove over a bridge. Not many of us would have the mental capacity to spend hours trying to formulate a cover-up.

In my mind a person like that is guilty of vehicular homicide but if you're a Kennedy, the punishment is decades of serving in the United States Senate. So I guess I'll just judge Teddy based on his excellent driving skills.
