Well being that Huch has many libberal views, then I would say yes many high profile Republicans are anti Huck.

I think most high-profile Republicans are afraid of Huckabee because they are afraid of his voters. He is the most likable candidate in their camp right now, and they completely understand that. His, most likely, voters, the Christian conservatives that Bush coveted in 2000 and 2004, are loyal to their own. They are, and this is in no means derogatory, a different class of voters than wealthy Romney/Giuliani types, and there are way more of them.

Anyone hear about the writer of Daily Kos telling all the Michigan dem voters to go support Romney in hopes of keeping the Republican race wide open?

Huckabee is probably the most personable of the candidates on either side. I am a little bother by the overly religious message that is coming from his campaign. BUT given his core voters it is a smart message - just not one that would decide my vote.

In this instance, the National Review is right on target. Huckabee, though maybe likable, is completely unprepared for this office. A great example is his tax plan. Huckabee is recycling a tax plan that no one, from policy makers to economists, believe would work. The reality of his tax policy is that it would do substantial damage to the middle class - possibly even eliminating this class altogether. These are the very people he claims to identify with and support in his populist rhetoric. I would also say that the only way that a Republican would win this election is to gain the votes of Independents. Huckabee is too polarizing a figure to do that effectively.

I like him. And I was worried about his super religousness but I think since he is so laid back, he will be alright.

Plus, we need a likeable president :-\

If I was an establishment Republican I wouldn't like Huck either (I'm not an establishment Republican and I don't like him for that matter). He's weak on foreign policy (to the neo-con movement), and his tax and spend record is terrible. Also, the Democrats consider him to be an easy opponent in the election. He's a glass jaw that would guarantee a Democrat in office if he gets the nomination.

FOX news doesn't like Huck, if that's any indication. The next morning after Iowa everyone was talking about his win but them. They were busy reporting on housefires and other stuff.

Anyhow, the good thing about Huckabee is that he's really a nice guy. He wants to do what he thinks is truly best for America, and not himself. He wants to ban gay marriage because he /truly/ thinks it's better for America, not for himself.

So I must say I like him best out of the republicans. Keyword: out of the republicans.
(But Dennis Kucinich has got my vote!)

Huckabee too liberal? I don't want a president who does what he personally thinks is right. I think we've suffered enough from leaders who follow their "gut" as Colbert would say.

For me, a good president is someone who leads according to the best interests of our country, while respecting and protecting the Constitution, not the holy scriptures.

Those poor Republicans. Too many candidates, none of them perfect. Not even close.

huckabee is a loony toon, its not what the US needs especially heading into a recession and being in a war. good thing the GOP isnt too enthusiastic about him.

huckabee cant win the presidential election, he is anti everything that independent voters want right now, hell the christian coalition didnt even throw their religious weight behind him. if republicans want a snowballs chance in hell at winning this thing they need a romney/giuliani ticket and then say a little prayer that hillary gets the nomination.
