Where I'm Clicking Now: Fundrace

I love that campaign contributions are part of the public record. When I get an urge to snoop, I check out The Huffington Post's great tool, Fundrace, to find out where people are sending their checks.
Looks like Jennifer Aniston and Will Smith like Barack Obama, and Sean Penn gave to both John Edwards and Dennis Kucinich. You can search by name or address — so neighbors, friends, family, old bosses, exes — are all fair game. What a great country! Check and see — is your neighbor really putting her money where her mouth is?

Wow, I didn't know this was so open to the public...
If you want to remain private, you can, I hope!?

No, you actually can't remain private. Campaign finance laws mandate that PACs and campaigns account for every donation, including a person's name, address, company they work for, occupation, etc. A person is permitted to use a work address in lieu of a home address, though. This information is all posted on the fec website, as well.

In my hometown there was recently a scandal with the mayorial race and misappropriation of funds, so being a public record makes sense to me.
