Diane Sawyer will always be my favorite, but Anderson Cooper is sexy. Sticking out tongue

Why is there no option to vote for Brian Williams?! I tune in to him every night to find out what's happened that day.

Ann Curry is a terrible at interviewing, she ask questions and then answers them in the same sentence.

Shepard Smith is with out a doubt my favorite newsman...if only he didn't work for Fox I might actually still watch him. His coverage during the beginning of the war with Iraq and Hurricane Katrina was incredibly interesting, sad, and ironically even humorous. His personality was a perfect antidote for watching these major points in history. I just wish they would unleash him.

I love Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman!
In the poll, I voted for Gwen Ifill because she's my favorite besides those two.

I should have voted for Couric, the way she kept on Palin during her interview.
I can't respect Ifill after her horrendous attempt to moderate a debate.
    Colbert is always the best.

"I can't respect Ifill after her horrendous attempt to moderate a debate"

..really? I thought she did ok, she was passive, sure, but it was understandable after everyone called her bias before the debate started. I could see how she wanted to stay out of it so no one could claim any bias, unfortunately our skilled politicians don't answer questions without a little arm twisting.

Good Morning, Good Morning, In the news this morning, Good Morning...

Had to throw that out for all of the Soup fans! Thanks for the laugh, Ann! Smiling

My favorite is Rachel Maddow and then Chuck Todd (love how he focuses on facts and stats). Since they weren't options, I went with Anderson. I thought he really illuminated the tragic reality of Katrina in a way that no other journalist did. He has come quite a way since his days on Channel One!

    Wow, that is very interesting.
I was really amazed during the beginning of the Iraq war when I heard him report numerous times that WMDs had been found, or that Saddam was dead...when it was completely not true. I am not trying to be argumentative, because we are all entitled to our opinions, and he does have a engaging personality...I just find it very facinating that we would get different impressions from the same coverage! Smiling That is the beauty of different perspectives! Eye-wink

Jillness, like I said, Shep does work for Fox ~ thus much of what they report is either untrue or a bad case of jumping the gun before the facts are in. Both he and David Bloom reporting for the Today show from his "Bloom mobile" in 2003 in Iraq were so interesting and humorous, that I actually took 3-days off from work just to watch it non-stop as well as CNN and MSNBC. Shep just had a genuinely funny personality and way of presenting information; unfortunately he is forced to tone it down for the news. The part where they found a video from Al Jazeera to try to show that Iraq still had an army...SOMEWHERE was pretty comical ~ And was hilariously expounded upon in a play called Saturday's Voyeur in Utah that year or the next.

Momma, like him or not, he does get big ratings.
I'm partial to cranky folks, though, when they're mostly balanced and well-intentioned. Too many news folks are colorless sycophants.

"...Fox ~ thus much of what they report is either untrue or a bad case of jumping the gun before the facts are in."

Because folks like Chris Matthews are the model of journalistic ethics and objectivity.

Even the press (was it the New York Times?) finally admitted that election coverage was biased, pro-Obama. *After* the election, of course.

How about a poll for who you like the least? LOL Mine would Katie Couris. Ugggh. Grrrr. She makes my skin crawl for some reason. And why wasn't there a choice for Brian Williams? He's cool.
