Movie Preview: Gerard and Katherine in The Ugly Truth

As you can see from this helpful poster, men and women are different. So different that when a "romantically challenged" woman (Katherine Heigl) can't seem to find love, a chauvinistic (though incredibly handsome) buffoon (Gerard Butler) is just the person to instruct her on how to attract a man.

The trailer for The Ugly Truth, a romantic comedy (presumably) about opposites attracting, is actually more amusing than its flimsy premise would have you believe. Butler is usually charming onscreen — even when his character is a total jerk — and while I may be alone in this opinion, I actually really like Heigl in roles like this one. The Ugly Truth opens April 3. To check out the new trailer and let me know what you think, read more.

It actually looks really cute (you're right Buzz, so much better than the premise). Gerard's accent has room for improvement however. I'm in (although, as I've said before, I'm a total sucker for romantic comedies).

I'm indifferent to Katherine Heigel (is it just me or has she been playing the same character since Knocked Up?) but I love Gerard Butler. They should just let him keep his natural accent though...

The trailer is good; hopefully the film will be as well. You're right, Buzz: KH is good in these types of roles. I'll watch, for sure.

KH plays the same character in everything, but she plays it very well - like she is a great actress in this role, an average one when she tries something else - and as gorgeous as she is, she makes it believable how a hot looking bubbly girl can't find a man.

Gerard Butler has such a fat face, why, when the body is so hot?

It looks good and I did like Knocked Up, but 22 Dresses was so bad. I think I'll wait to see it on DVD.

does this mean that we're going to hear about this movie for ages? i hope not! anyway, i think that this role is right in katherine's comfort zone...so i'm sure that it'll be just like the others that she's been in.

Not a big fan of KH, but I have liked her movies, and this looks like a definite girl's night out movie.

I love Gerard Butler and I like Katherine Heigl, so I was interested before I even watched the trailer. It's a cute premise...I look forward to seeing Gerard in a comedy, he is such a funny guy from the interviews I've seen!

Can’t stand Heigl either (just when is she going to just go away?) but I’ll watch it for Gerard Butler. Their scenes together will no doubt be painful to watch...

Oh, wanna bet that in the end, she finally realizes that Butler (or whatever his character's name is) is the guy for her and he (Butler) realizes that he's been a male chauvinist pig (thanks Ally McBeal !) and that he's going to change for her and they live happily ever after ?

These movies are so predictable... But then again, I don't mind watching them... on DVD, of course. Not gonna ruin 10$ for that ! Smiling

i actually saw this movie a month ago...through a free screening (the ending wasn't complete yet, it was set with a green screen)...BUT let me tell you...this movie is SOOOOOO GOOD...funny, endearing, romantic...definitely a movie for not only the ladies but also the guys. Every character in the movie was perfectly cast and not only do the two stars shine (Heigl and Butler), but the supporting cast are hilarious as well. I can't wait to see it in the movie theatre again!

Looks like one of the few romantic comedies I just might like Smiling It looks like fun. Edgier and not as lovey dovey as 27 Dresses.
