Only Captured Terrorist Speaks About Mumbai Massacre

Azam Amir Kasab, a 21-year-old man from Pakistan, is the only terrorist police captured alive after the Mumbai massacre ended. Details from his interrogation have been leaked, and they reveal a chilling picture of a nightmarish tragedy that could have turned out even worse. After playing dead in order to survive, Kasab told police:

  • The synchronized attacks were planned six months ago, and intended to kill 5,000 people. So far the death toll stands at around 200.
  • The group of 10 terrorists had planned to blow up the entire Taj Mahal hotel, but were unsuccessful.
  • The would-be attackers posed as students on a trip to Mumbai a month ago to acquaint themselves with the city.
  • The men specifically targeted "whites," especially British and American citizens.
  • Kasab said he belonged to Pakistani terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which has denied involvement.
  • Kasab said he was told to "kill to my last breath."

As those impacted by these appalling events recover and mourn, international players urgently want to reduce the probability of a confrontation between India and Pakistan. Depending on how things play out, India might take a US approach: if one country can't deal with its terrorists, then another country has a right to do something about it.

I don't know what to say. If I started wishing this sick person and his fellow terrorists a lot of suffering or death, then I would be lowering myself to his level. Yet I don't know what else he should be deserving. What can I say.
Do these people honestly believe that they are people of God, while they are killing innocent people 'till their last breath'?

Also alarming how young some of these suicide terrorists are. Guess the bigwigs want to brainwash them as young as possible, so they don't know any better.

I feel the same way austerity. I just have no words and there is no punishment for this man that can equal the destruction they have caused. My heart goes to all the families who lost someone in this tragedy. It is so heartbreaking and scary.

I guess the younger they are, the better, since is easier to brainwash them and make them believe in their ideals. They are also physically stronger. They must have been very young if they passed as students.

i hope the fact that they were targeting whites and westerners will ease tensions between pakistan and india... the thought of two nuclear-armed nations having a standoff right now is really freaking me out.

This is so sad. I'm glad there was one surviving terrorist that they can get information from. I hope he proves useful in getting the rest of group that planned the attacks.

    btw, morn should be "mourn"

I disagree, he and his group attacked innocent people, took away the lives of mothers, fathers, and other loved ones, brought havoc to an entire country, and changed people lives for the worse forever. People like him deserve death and suffering and don't deserve to live when they show such contempt for innocent human life.

    Agreed, yy.

I couldn't help but imagine myself in that situation where they were targeting Americans and Brits, frantically trying to remember my high school French.

So now that they know why, can they execute him now?

It's a shame that these people are so young, but they train them to be so hateful while they're impressionable and easier to mold. There's not really any point in charging him with all of the deaths and injuries, it's the fault of an entire system. Even if he was charged or tried or whatever, either a life sentence of hard labor rebuilding what he and the others destroyed or execution are the only proper punishments I see for a crime of this magnitude.

I'm also surprised that they were able to be undercover and plan for so long with this. Six months?! But they didn't kill the 5,000 they planned for, which may be a small consolation. I'm so sorry for the families who lost loved ones and were otherwise affected by this craziness.

True Song - I'd like to think they would have went "Oops - we don't want to hurt Canadians!" but considering a lot of the world seems to think we exactly like the States, I'm sure Canadians would have been included in the targeting as well. Sad

Oh, I read some report saying they were asking people where they were from and letting non-Americans and non-Britons go.

Apparently, they gave extra torture to the foreigners too, inside the hotel; especially Israelis. I say torture of any kind is bad enough...but what do you gain even from a material perspective, by torturing hotel visitors and families?? can't they just shoot them and kill them. this is just beyond sick.

On an architectural note, its a good thing buildings were built as good as they were 105 years ago. Evidently that is what kept the beautiful old hotel from being blown up completely and inevitably causing more death in the process.

There is a part of me that gets so deeply, insanely angry at these acts. A part of me that stops feeling reasonable and feels murderous myself towards those who presume to play God for the rest of the world.

However, killing them might make some victims feel better, but ultimately if these guys believe half the crap they spout, killing them also martyrs them and ultimately will they die feeling vindicated and self-righteous, or punished? Killing the terrorist might make someone feel "safe" but without getting to the root of the problem - and the people who sent them there (fatcats who are probably safe and sound elsewhere as usual) - they will continue to return.

I hope India and Pakistan can resolve this because they have been at war 3 times since Pakistan's inception already, and with both of them being nuclear countries its very troubling.

Either way my condolences to the families of those lost, and my sincere hope for a speedy recovery to all injured.

What a bunch of women, and talk about brainwashed, you guys had better pull your heads out of your you know whats. Who killed the other 7 terrorists? Huh? You guys obviously don't know what a false flag attack is do you? Westerners, that's how some described the terrorists, hmmm I wonder why. Maybe it's cuz they were westerners, just like Al-ciaduh the uhh file folder ya know that's what al queda means, other than the toilet, it means the database of cia agents available for this type of stuff in the middle east. Whether they should die or not isn't your choice and you have no buisness discussing it anyways, you should be worried about the fact that this is main stream front page state sponsored terrorism, this type being known as false flag terrorism. I hope some of you girls are awake enough to follow this story. Here is a way to track the bull of this story. Go to google and cut and paste this MUMBAI+CAPTURED+TERRORIST and then keep doing this after of course reading at least the first 30 articles that come up and then do it day by day for say 5 days and watch as the stories get filtered down and they will change of course because just like 911 the details actually come out in the first hours but then are erased by the ones who cover this stuff up, if you will do the finger work you will see a cover up in action!

But if you're too busy buying shoes online or shopping for Nimrod's birthday december 25th the most pagan of all the man made holy days, well then you will be just as dumb when they come to drag your ass off to the halliburton dissident camps and you are today! Wake up girls and stop all the judgement crap, none of you are worthy to judge anyone else for any sin. Let him/her without sin cast the first stone.

    peace

sizzlean, how about a link to back up your claims? From everything I've heard and read, it has been discounted that several of the terrorists were westerners.

Nya, don't waste your time scratching any body part over sizzle's posts, but then what do I know, I'm just some shoe-shopping idiot.

(And so is UnDave evidently. But if we're all the same that means UnDave also has to become an agnostic headbanger like moi, so hop to it, UnDave! There's a good lad! And grab some lovely shoes while you are at it!)

(Sizzle, any SHRED of credibility you could have professed to have will have been shot down by the crude, hostile and JUDGEMENTAL inanity of your post......accusing we posters (who, incidentally represent a VERY WIDE swath of public opinion and personal taste) of being judgemental while she singlehandedly accusing everyone on the thread all of being the same, being ignorant of the Pagan roots of Christmas and calling Jesus "Nimrod" while drooling on ourselves as a result of our pervasive ignorance and then - in what I can only describe as the height of irony - has the unmitigated idiocy to finish with "let he who is without sin cast the first stone".)

Can I just say.. Le Lol.
