Whenever I take a trip, I try to bring back some small object that will fit into my home's look but also remind me of the country that I visited. Do you do the same on trips abroad?

Me and my husband are too poor to travel, but the rest of the family isn't and sometimes the souvenirs they bring back for us are items for the home. We got a cute wooden shoe bottle opener from Holland and a Weapons of Moroland wall decor from the Philippines.

I try to travel as light as possible but I have baskets from Guyana, molas from Pananma, and a few other textiles. I generally try to collect honey when I travel.

I usually by food and clothing when I travel overseas, but occasionally I find small household items to bring back. I like shopping in places like supermarkets and drug stores for interesting goodies, and also if I come across thrift shops I love checking out what's for sale!

I think it's hard to find something of good quality, when we went to NY everything was so touristy and cheaply made. When you're only there a couple days, it's hard to know where to find something good. I take lots of pictures though to remember the trip!

I recently spent a week in Europe followed by a month in Israel i saw so many beautiful jewelry boxes, dishes and tapestries, but due to the length of time I was staying I had too much luggage for me to bring anything heavy home with me without facing extensive fines from the airlines. I came home with a ton of pictures and a few pieces of jewelry.

We were recently in Malta and Italy and we brought back 2 small bowls to add to our collection. We try to get a bowl that is representative of the places we visit on all of our travels.

yes I do. Especially unframed pictures that can be stored in hardly any space in my bag.I prefer things that are a little bit exotic and mysterious, and things that aren't really heavy. It's also good to get things that are super cheap in that country. I wish I'd bought more stuff in Thailand, they have gorgeous silk bedspreads, and in Egypt their sheets are super cheap... but mostly I get flat things.

That is my one of my FAVORITE parts of traveling. I always buy books and usually one or two small items for my home. This summer I got some nesting dolls from Russia that I love.

I always try to travel light. I usually buy tons of small items but never get a chance to buy anything big. When I graduate and get a job, I'd love to buy some exotic furniture from Indonesia.

My living room rug is a gorgeous green Indian carpet and I have a framed textile above the bed that was embroidered by Aboriginal women in Australia. I also have a ton of decorative objects from all over.

That's such a cute picture!
We used to do this, but now traveling abroad means visiting family and not missing the plane during transfers!
