Santa Claus is coming to town and well, he's already at the mall! Whether you use the snapshot of your kids with St. Nick for holiday cards or to showcase on the mantel, many families make posing for one an annual tradition.

Will your children sit on Santa's lap at the mall this year?

Yup, already have. Smiling Classic shot of the boys grinning and the baby screaming. She was fine for the first shot, then she turned and saw Santa and the photographer caught her reaction. We didn't put her through anything after that. *lol*

We try every year, but usually it doesn't work out because she gets freaked out by Santa.

Yes, I am talking about her. To the left, the one that eats the lens, little miss camera shy.

babies are generally freaked out by Santa. I took with him when I was about 7, when we finally got the pics my brother and I ripped them up because "his breathe stinks"...needless to say we got in VERY big trouble and never saw him since.

My mother still tells this story.

We did it for the first time last week. And my baby wasn't happy and cried. The crying shot actually would have been cuter in retrospect, but I ended up with a picture of him looking really pissed (and off to the side) right before he started crying. Not a fan of santa yet! Smiling

Took our 8 month old last week. He loved Santa. He petted the beard and honked Santa's nose! We have a great shot of them gazing at each other.

My daughter's the first of my kids to cry with Santa, but I figured she would. She's MUCH more stranger-shy than the boys were, especially with men, especially with beards.

We take our photo with Santa every year, but never at the mall, the lines are always way too long and too many screaming kids. Then once one screams they all do.

Where we live thankfully there are many other places to get photos with Santa that have much smaller lines, if any line at all. My favorite is at the annual CC Christmas Brunch....that seems to work out the best!

haha, my mom made my brothers and i do this until we were definitely too old (I guess I was like 10) to be taking pics with santa. I always hated it. It's completely uncomfortable and santa is almost always a grump.

I don't have kids yet but I took my puppy one year on pet day, only to be told that Santa "didn't like dogs, and I could I please remove my dog immediately after the photo was taken."

My brother, best friend and I have taken our picture with Santa for the past ten years for my mom. And now that I've got a little one this year (and am living on the complete opposite side of the country from the two of them!) we're going to take separate photos and then photoshop them together! That way, her favorite gift each year can continue even with 2,000+ miles between us.

I loved having pictures with Santa and did it until I was well into my teens. I even have a picture of my husband and I on Santa's lap just before we got married.

I wouldn't force it on my kids, they love it, although obviously the baby can't say yet. The boys beg to see Santa and sit on his lap. And we do it the week before Thanksgiving or during the day to avoid lines.

Definitely. Introduced him to the Old Man in Red last week and he was totally unfased; and uninterested. There were these cool parachuting penguin decorations hanging from the ceiling, and that is where all his focus was.

My little sister has about 4 years in a row of screaming, arms and legs rigidly straight out pics. They are our favorites. Laughing out loud

OMG, I totally forgot that I needed to do this. The 9 year old decided last year he wasn't into any longer so it was totally off my radar.

I always wanted to take pics with Santa when I was younger, but I am Jewish and we were never allowed to. I'm sure my son will want to take pics but it won't happen. I wonder if I will tell him that Santa isn't real? I don't want him to go and ruin it for any other kids he might play with he believe.

We did the whole Santa thing when we were kids but Im just not into it. I prefer the Santa image to stay a little more mysterious and magical, rather then the grumpy guy with a poorly made fake beard. My husband really wants to do it and my daughter is a typical sag, wants anyone and everyone we talk to to pick her up once she got past her shy phase at 6-10 months, so we are def going to do it. Just cant wait till she can understand that strangers are bad so i dont feel so paranoid.
