I don't see how either of those articles indicate that either rumor is true. Am I missing something? (Or are you just saying that that is another rumor?)

from my perspective, it seems like Palin is a trainwreck, but she seems to be doing so well as far as polls and fundraising. I just don't get it.

I like watching Paula Dean, but would never cook any of her food, in fear of a heartattack. But I'll watch Michelle though. Eye-wink

Lili, I cannot post on the same threads as you! When I get the e-mails with what people said in response to you, I always think they are talking to me and I get all confused.

My sister watches Paula, I like her accent but I'd never watch it. If I remember I'd turn to it to see Michelle.

Biden could easily crush Palin in the VP debate but the Repubs will find a way to cry sexism (again) or if she's not that easy to crush (but he still crushes her) then they will say "Sarah did a damn good job." Ever since Palin joined the ticket the entire campaign trail has turned into a joke.

Wade -- I totally agree -- she can do no wrong in their eyes. "Oh Troopergate?? Is that something you put in your garden?" They just totally ignore it -- and I believe on page 2 of that conservative blog (townhall) they said that the selling of rape kits is true. Oh -- I know -- she a great Hockey mom -- that make it all better

    ---
"Knowles told reporters, “There was one town in Alaska that was charging victims for this, and that was Wasilla, and the -- the original police chief had been fired by Mayor Palin, and her replacement for that police chief was protesting it, and even when I signed the bill.”

Weinstein added, “Wasilla under Sarah Palin's administration chose to charge sexual assault victims for the forensic kits, and that's the choice they made. They easily could have made the other choice.”

The Townhall piece shows that the verdict is still out on the rape kit issue. Someone who she opposed politically is not a very reliable source.

And I find it interesting that I have admitted multiple times that I have some reservations about Palin as have a few others on this site, but people say that McCain/Palin supporters ignore all of her flaws. Very intriguing, indeed...

Yeah, so interesting how no one seems to think the opinion of a handful of posters on a message board represents trends of the party. Very odd.

I watched her cook with Bobby (the younger son) on an episode. He prepared salmon and couscous. It looked good and pretty healthy. Paula a big cut of butter to the couscous the moment Bobby turned his back. It cracked me up.

Paula Dean cracks me up - if I ever see her not use mayo, butter and/or a pound of sugar I would absolutely believe the world has turned upside down. She has this krispy kreme pudding recipe- it has the donuts, 1/2 cup sugar (yes really), 1 stick of butter, 1 cup of rum.

I would just personally feel more comfortable if he have chosen someone more inline with the McCain of 2000. Instead he saw that he was loosing his audience -- so he choose a gimmick and she is a trainwreck.

I guess if I have to choose between Palin's spokeswoman Maria Cornella who told USA Today that Palin, “does not believe, nor has ever believed, that rape victims should have to pay for an evidence-gathering test.

    or

former Alaskan Governor Knowles and Ketchikan Mayor Bob Weinstein

    I believe the latter.

[ Alaskan Governor Knowles who told reporters, “There was one town in Alaska that was charging victims for this, and that was Wasilla, and the -- the original police chief had been fired by Mayor Palin, and her replacement for that police chief was protesting it, and even when I signed the bill.”

Weinstein added, “Wasilla under Sarah Palin's administration chose to charge sexual assault victims for the forensic kits, and that's the choice they made. They easily could have made the other choice.” ]

To be honest, it sounds fishy-ish. Who knows.

But as far as I know, the president and vp have little say in who gets charged for rape kit exams, so I'm much more concerned with the other 963 things I disagree with her and McCain on.

I just watched it! She didn't do very well IMO. Didn't answer questions clearly, looked nervous and unravelled a bit. This is just my opinion though! I definitely don't think it helped her. When referring to foreign policy experience she referenced knowing a lot about energy? A little bit of a far stretch if you ask me.

Unfortunately, charging rape kits to insurance companies etc is not an uncommon practice.

But, the article states that the town wants it to be part of restitution charges as to not burden the victim or taxpayers:

"" Ultimately it is the criminal who should bear the burden of the added costs, Fannon said.
The forensic exam is just one part of the equation. Id like to see the courts make these people pay restitution for these things, Fannon said.
Fannon said he intends to include the cost of exams required to collect evidence in a restitution request as a part of a criminals sentencing.""

To say she wished to charge victims for being raped is just more smear.
I am not even a fan of Palin, I am just sick of dirty politics.

This is just another example of the smear campaign against Sarah Palin. I don't understand why we can't talk about the real issues that matter in this election, and stop trying to insult and attack the candidates, especially Palin, as she has been on the receiving end of the biggest attack I have ever seen in a presidential election.
