I read that McCain is announcing tomorrow morning at a rally in Dayton.

That's what I heard, too, Lilkimbo. I would rather he hold a rally to announce it then just put out a press release. More exciting.

Obama certainly has some big shoes to fill. It is nice that the first African American presidential nominee is accepting the nomination on the anniversary of MLK's famous Dream speech. It's kind of poetic or at least historic. This is the first time politics has made me feel like it is an exciting time to be alive. Knowing your country is making history, positive history, while your watching is thrilling. No matter what party you are in, that has to be kind of cool. To be able to tell your kids, "I was watching when that happened. This is what I remember..."

I'm glad New Orleans and government officials are taking precautions this time around. Hopefully the storm won't hit or will be significantly weakened by the time it does. They haven't finished rebuilding from Katrina. That area has hit it's quota for disasters.

I'm interested in hearing McCain's VP pick. I heard rumors that it was Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

I really hope New Orleans isn't flooded again. It seems like such a beautiful, vibrant city and I would love to go there someday, hopefully while it's still intact.
