As for Iran...

Today McCain suggested that the US use "divestment" techniques to pursuade the Iranians. Too bad he didn't know Obama beat him to it!!

To divest means to encourage others countries to not invest in things Iran related.

In 2007, Obama sponsored an Iranian divestment bill that he claimed would "educate investors and pressure foreign companies to reconsider doing business with Iran by requiring the US government to publish every six months, a list of companies that invest more than $20 Million in Iran's energy sector".
