Awaiting Results: Obama Scoops Up Maine

Finishing a big weekend of wins, Barack Obama won the top spot in Maine's caucuses today. Obama cleared 58 percent to Hillary Clinton's 40 percent, and Maine's 24 pledged delegates will be divided proportionally between them. Maine's Republican caucuses were held earlier this month, with Mitt Romney emerging as the winner.

    Seriously Shocked They were about a hundred delegates apart yesterday! It's anyone's game.

    I wish more news organizations would say the PLEDGED delegates...aka the delegates that represent the voters. I think that if you count just the pledged delegates, Obama is ahead by quite a bit. It bothers me that the "super delegates" make it seem as if it is neck and neck. It doesn't reflect the will of the people.

    It bothers me too. They shouldn't take superdelegates into account until there is a winner or close to a nominee, since they can change their minds at any time.

    I think that is such an important point, too, that the Superdelegates can change their mind at any time.
